Routes is Theatre Témoin’s interactive promenade show built with a team of refugee, migrant, and British-born artists that explores perspectives on “Homes” and “Others”.
Based on the “Babel Tower” concept, the idea behind this structure is to create a common “house” for each of the stories to be lived in. It’s also part of the concept, the interpretation of the body, and the way the actors can move in and out of this element, using their full body to do so, from climbing to opening doors and windows. A movable wooden tower, with 4,5meters tall, and a base of 2m x 2m, and various different elements for cladding compose this set.

As part of the second edition of Pico Zen Festival, Colectivo Warehouse, in collaboration with Terrapalha studio, were invited to design and build a temporary structure that would accommodate the main activities of the festival.
The project’s premises were clear from the start, in resume the main goal was to create a structure that had the least possible environmental and local impact, minimizing the use of external resources. In this way the design response was to use local labor, materials and techniques.
Bamboo tree, as an invasive species on the island, was an obvious choice for the structure, aligning with the use of local fishing ropes and mooring techniques for tensioning and structural bonding.

“Van 12” is a project that puts children’s voices at the heart of a street theatre performance through the use of recorded storytelling audio.
Colectivo Warehouse was invited to take part in the creative process of this performance. From Set design to body movement and props, the entire process was defined with all the actors, directors and assistants collaborating with-in a residency in Beirut.
Stories have been gathered through workshops and discussions with Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian children who have had their rights neglected or violated. The children have anonymously shared their experiences about how they are coping with violence, bullying, poverty, forced labour, and other violations of their legal rights.
